OREA Conference 2019
The Ontario Real Estate Association was back at it again, bringing Realtors from across our Province to Learn, Share and Appreciate our Real Estate Associations and all we do for our Fellow Realtors, and Consumers!
This Story starts with a VERY stormy evening. A snow day in fact! The only people crazy enough people to drive that day were the Self Employed haha.
I picked up my fellow Realtor Tamer Famey from Keller Williams, who has been in business longer then I’ve been alive, and we had an Entertaining White Knuckle drive to Missisauga!
Tamer is always entertaining and time flies by in his presence.
We landed safely, gave Valet my Keys, and found my room to finish up some work.
That Night we Celebrated OREA’s First ever YPN Social Boost!
Ohhh my goodness did this committee do a great job of this event! (Yes those are Realtor gloves! haha)
Yes as you can tell, it wasn’t strict on the YPN part, and I was happy to see ‘our elders’ out number us and out party mot of the YPNer’s! haha
They had Great Food, GIANT Garden Games of Jenga & Connect 4, a Bar of course, and a HILARIOUS game of Family Fued Realtor Edition
What does that look like exactly? haha Well, the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) and Brampton Real Estate Board (BREB), went head to head answering questions that one might encounter in the life of a Realtor.
For example – What should you NOT do at an Open House? (You can only imagine the guesses), What Tech is Essential to the Life of a Realtor? also, What Should you Tell Your Seller Before they List… they ALL cracked a laugh – or 7.
There was still a decent turnout with Toronto Realtors, and those flying in for the conference.
The First Day of our Conference was a bit more Top Secret then the Realtor Edition of Family Fued
We spent the Morning Celebrating these AMAZING Realtors for their Hours, Days and Years of Contribution to Organized Real Estate!
Congrats and Thank You to our Incredible President of the Realtors Association of Hamilton Burlington, Jack Loft for his Service to our Association as President 🙂
Volunteering and Charity is at the Heart of every Good Realtor, and I was Humbled to be in the Room with SO MANY Sweet, Successful People!
Realtors Care Committee Raised 1.1 Million Dollars in 2018!!!!
Spectacular!
In the Afternoon, we had Discussion on different Topics within the Association, and Voted on Changes to the Rules of OREA
Ok back to the Fun Part…
Dinner was a Lovely Mix of Food, with the braised beef being my personal favourite!
Wonderful Welcome Speech by Karen Cox, the 2019 President of the Ontario Real Estate Association! Congrats Karen, we know you will work with Tim Hudak and do some Great Things for Ontario Homeowners in 2019.
The Hilton hooked us up with some Fabulous Entertainment…Duelling Pianos!
What a show they put on to get us grooving!
The Board of Directors from the Realtors Association of Hamilton Burlington represented our Association and its member and had a blast networking with people from other Real Estate Boards across Ontario.
Day 3 I stuck around for a Leadership 300 Course, which was a phenomenal addition to my growing knowledge of Board based activities!
Our Course Leader Laura Leyson was not only Awesome because she brought us Rheo Thompson Chocolate from her Hometown of Stratford but because she was SUPER
Engaging, Super High Energy, and SUPER knowledgable about Leadership in the Board Room.
We learned about Strategic Planning and why it’s so important, and how to execute it properly (Measurable).
How to Behave in the Board Room
How NOT to Behave in the Board Room
What our Role is as a Board Member
It’s so nice to get to know people in the ‘conference circuit’ and watch them grow into New and Deserving Roles in their Associations!
I’m feeling Inspired and Energized coming out of the OREA Conference and Ready to Put My Head Together with Other Great Minds around the Board Table!
